Our titanium CNC machining is perfect for aerospace and medical parts that need to be both light and strong.
We leverage our multi-axis turning capabilities to machine a wide spectrum of metals and plastics:
Metals
Lightweight, strong, and corrosion-resistant, aluminum is highly versatile. Its excellent machinability makes it ideal for complex geometries produced via multi-axis turning.
Common Grades: We frequently machine 6061 (General Purpose, Weldable), 7075 (High Strength), 2024 (High Fatigue Strength), 5052 (Good Formability, Marine Grade), and MIC-6 (Cast Tooling Plate).
Applications: Aerospace components, automotive parts, electronic enclosures, consumer goods, jigs, and fixtures.
Offers excellent corrosion resistance, good strength, and durability. Multi-axis turning allows for intricate features on parts exposed to harsh environments or requiring high hygiene standards.
Common Grades: Expertise includes 304/L (Most Common), 316/L (Enhanced Corrosion Resistance, Medical/Marine), 17-4 PH (High Strength, Heat Treatable), 440C (High Hardness), and 303 (Free Machining).
Applications: Medical devices, surgical instruments, food processing equipment, marine hardware, automotive components, valves, and fittings.
Provides enhanced strength, toughness, and wear resistance compared to standard carbon steels. Suitable for demanding applications requiring robust mechanical properties.
Common Grades: We commonly work with 4140 (Chromoly – High Tensile Strength, Toughness), 4340 (Nickel-Chromoly – Very High Strength, Toughness), 8620 (Case Hardening), and E52100 (Bearing Steel).
Applications: Gears, shafts, axles, tooling, fasteners, high-stress structural components. Multi-axis turning is key for complex gear profiles or shaft features.
Known for its exceptional strength-to-weight ratio, biocompatibility, and excellent resistance to corrosion and high temperatures. Machining titanium requires expertise, which our multi-axis capabilities support.
Common Grades: Primarily Grade 5 (Ti 6Al-4V), the most widely used aerospace alloy. We also machine Grade 2 (Commercially Pure – Good Weldability/Formability) and other alpha, beta, and alpha-beta alloys based on project needs.
Applications: Aerospace structures & engines, medical implants (orthopedic, dental), high-performance automotive parts, marine components, chemical processing equipment.
Designed for extreme performance in high-temperature, high-stress, and highly corrosive environments. Multi-axis turning is essential for creating the complex geometries often required.
Common Grades: Extensive experience with Inconel® 625 (Excellent Fabricability, Corrosion Resistance), Inconel® 718 (High Strength up to 1300°F/700°C), Hastelloy® C276 (Outstanding Corrosion Resistance), and Monel® 400 (High Strength, Resistant to Sea Water).
Applications: Jet engine components (turbines, combustors), gas turbines, chemical reactors, nuclear power systems, oil & gas exploration tools.
Our multi-axis turning services are not limited to the above. We handle various other metals based on your project requirements. Please contact us to discuss specifics.
Includes examples like:
Plastics
A high-performance thermoplastic offering exceptional mechanical strength, chemical inertness, wear resistance, and high-temperature stability (continuous use up to ~480°F/250°C).
Common Grades: Natural (Unfilled), Glass-Filled (PEEK GF30), Carbon-Filled (PEEK CA30), Bearing Grade (PEEK HPV).
Applications: Medical implants and instruments, aerospace components, semiconductor parts, demanding industrial seals, bearings, and bushings. Multi-axis turning enables intricate features for these critical applications.
An engineering thermoplastic known for its high stiffness, low friction, excellent dimensional stability, fatigue endurance, and resistance to moisture and solvents. Easily machinable to tight tolerances.
Common Grades: Homopolymer (Delrin® POM-H) offers slightly higher mechanical properties, while Copolymer (POM-C) has better chemical resistance and lower centerline porosity. Also available in filled grades (e.g., Delrin® AF – PTFE filled).
Applications: Precision gears, bearings, bushings, rollers, electrical insulators, fuel system components, conveyor parts. Complex shapes are readily achieved with multi-axis turning.
A versatile family of tough, abrasion-resistant thermoplastics with good chemical resistance. Different types offer varying properties regarding stiffness, moisture absorption, and temperature resistance.
Common Grades: Nylon 6, Nylon 6/6 (Extruded or Cast – Cast often has better stability), MDS-Filled Nylon (Enhanced Wear Resistance), Glass-Filled Nylon (Increased Strength & Stiffness).
Applications: Wear pads, rollers, gears (especially under moderate load), sheaves, structural components, housings. Multi-axis turning facilitates complex profiles and features.
Famous for its extremely low coefficient of friction (“non-stick”), outstanding chemical inertness across a wide range, and high-temperature resistance. Requires specialized techniques for precision machining due to its softness.
Common Grades: Primarily virgin PTFE. Also available in filled grades (e.g., glass, carbon, bronze) to improve wear resistance, creep resistance, or thermal conductivity, depending on the filler (Glass-Filled PTFE, Carbon-Filled PTFE, etc.).
Applications: Seals (O-rings, gaskets), insulators, low-friction bearings and bushings, chemical handling components, non-stick surfaces. Multi-axis turning allows for complex seal geometries or component shapes.
A strong, exceptionally tough, and impact-resistant thermoplastic that is naturally transparent. Maintains properties over a wide temperature range.
Common Grades: Machine Grade (PC 1000), Glass-Filled (PC-GF) for increased stiffness, FDA Compliant grades.
Applications: Machine guards, sight glasses, electronic housings, medical manifolds, optical lenses (requires post-polishing), structural components requiring high impact strength. Multi-axis turning enables complex shapes for protective or functional parts.
Our expertise extends beyond these primary examples. Contact us to discuss your specific plastic material requirements for multi-axis turning.

Multi-Axis CNC Turning is a super smart way to make parts. Regular turning spins the material while a tool cuts it. But our multi-axis machines can do much more!
A: Regular turning only cuts along two axes, while multi-axis adds more directions for cutting complex shapes in one setup.
A: We routinely hold ±0.0005″ on diameter and length measurements.
A: Our machines can handle parts up to 12″ in diameter and 24″ in length.
A: Yes! Our 24/7 production can handle rush orders. Just let us know your deadline.
A: Absolutely! Our engineering team can create a CAD file from your sketch or sample.
